If your coverage has just started with Sun Life, or if you have recently made changes to your profile or coverage, there is a short waiting period where you might not be able to access this coverage as expected. Allow us to explain.
When we sync League member information with Sun Life, the information files only run:
- On business days, not weekends
- Overnight, so that our claims paying system is updated
Example: Your first day with KPMG is January 1, 2018. The first business day of January is January 2nd, so this new information file will run at midnight on January 2nd, updating the claims paying system and Sun Life's member website on January 3rd. The pharmacy's system will be updated on January 4th.
This means that your eligible claims are covered as of January 1st, but if you attempt to use the Sun Life portal or the pharmacy on January 1st you would be denied. On January 3rd you'll be able to make a claim on the Sun Life portal, but you'll have to wait until January 4th to use your Sun Life card at the pharmacy directly.
