If you've chosen to make an increase to your Optional Life coverage, your increase in coverage is subject to approval from Manulife's underwriting department.
The pending notice on the cards in your League Wallet applies to the additional coverage that you requested to add during this enrollment period. Any previously approved coverage continues to be in place, and premiums are deducted for approved coverage from your semi-monthly pay.
What's required for my new coverage to be approved?
In order for your increase in coverage to be approved, you will need to complete and submit an Evidence of Insurability form (EOI) for approval before your additional coverage is finalized. Further medical information may also be required, which will be obtained by a third party vendor by requesting an in-person appointment with you. Charges will not apply for this benefit until the underwriting process is complete and Manulife has approved your request for additional life coverage.

When will I know my coverage has been approved?
Once Manulife has had time to review your Optional Life request and supporting documentation, you will receive a notification directly from Manulife informing you of the change in your coverage. Additionally, the benefit cards for your Optional Life coverage in your League Wallet will move out of the 'Activation Pending' status and reflect your updated coverage amount in the coverage summary.
